She doesn't put things in her mouth. We've been trying puffs lately and while she eats them just fine, she doesn't put them in her mouth. She'll grab MY hand and pull my hand towards her open mouth so I can feed her, but she won't do it herself. Isn't that kind of odd that the only thing she puts in her mouth is a paci (which is gone now) and her fingers? No food, no blankets, no toys... nothing.

Freud would have all kinds of mess to say about this but I dont think its THAT strange... My baby tries to lick the dogs Im thinking she has more of an issue LOL. Try just stilling there and showing her see what she does. Eventually she will learn you wont be feeding her when shes 10 :P

I know that baby putting things in their mouth is actually a really important developmental milestone. I wouldn't freak out over it yet or say it is abnormal but I would bring it up at the next doctor appt. just to be safe. Might just be something she isn't interested in right now and will grasp later on. Definitely something to look out for though.

a friend of mine was having the same issue with her daughter. She would not put any solids in her mouth. Once she hit 1 year she had to start bringing her to a food therapist. It's not that unusual but I agree with PP about bringing it up at the next dr. appointment.

It honestly sounds kind of nice, but I'd mention it to your pedi at your next appointment.
