What size do you guys have?
I have a 6.5 qt slow cooker and while it's great for entertaining, I assume it's too large to cook daily meals for the 3 of us. I would love to be able to use mine more, but I'm tired of coming home to a burnt mess and having to figure out something else to eat.
Re: s/o slow cookers - what size?
We have a 4qt that works great for family meals. It's the perfect size for just the 3 of us.
I also have a 6 qt that I use for entertaining and a 16oz little dipper that's great for warm dips / appetizers.
I have this one. Because it has little clamps and rubber lining at the seal, it keeps way more water in than my old crockpot. I leave mine on 10 hours during work days and I can't think of anything burned since I got it. I definitely have to adjust the water and that's taken practice. I acutally need less water than most recipes call for though!
I usually cook 1lb of chicken or ground turkey at a time.
I also have the 6-quart Hamilton Beech Set-and-Forget. I just used it for the first time last night, but can honestly say it's awesome. The fact that it automatically switches to "warm" when it's done with the specified cooking time means nothing should burn.
Does yours have that setting?
I'm sure a smaller one would work for you, but I'm all about de-cluttering so why have two?
I've been trying to de-clutter as well, but I think multiples could be nice in this case for entertaining.
