Frustrated with big belly

I'm so frustrated that I can't seem to lose weight from my belly. I'm almost six months post partum. The first twenty pounds came off basically doing nothing. Now I have 15 pounds left and they seem to all be on my tummy. I've been working out five times per week for the last month and have only lost two pounds. I haven't done anything drastic with my diet because I'm still breastfeeding exclusively and I don't want it to affect my milk production. I generally am a helthy eater though. Any advice? Will I ever be able to fit into my jeans again? What worked for you and how long did it take?

  • I could have written this post myself.  I just recently got so fed up with the way I looked that I started working out.  I have about the same number of pounds to lose and it all seems to be in my stomach.

I feel redundant saying this, if you've seen other posts from me, but I am a believer in the 30 Day Shred by Jillian Michaels.  I have lost 2 inches so far in my waist in 3 weeks.  My stomach already looks much better.  After the Shred, I'm going to do Jillian's 6 week ab video.

  • At six months, you can safely diet sensibly losing 1-2 pounds per week.  For tummy fat, you have to cut white stuff - bread, sugar, potatoes etc.  Eat whole grain foods...whole wheat bread instead of white, sweet potatoes instead of white, wild rice or brown rice instead of white...
