I'm thinking it means "light cheese that is pastuerized". I think pastuerization is kind of an all or nothing process Maybe not, though. Either way, why the heck would it be phrased that way? Dumb.

That's kinda what I thought, too, especially since I'm pretty sure this flavor is one of the "light" ones anyway.
I've had apple cider that says "lightly pasteurized", so I do think it's possible. Confusing as heck for those paranoid pregnant women who won't touch something unless it's been heated to hell and back. I am not one of those women.

wtf does that even mean? How do you "lightly" heat away bacteria? I mean, really? It makes me laugh but I used to drink "stovetop pasteurized" milk so what do I know. Haha.

I am by no means an expert in this field but I think companies use "lightly pasteurized" when they are pasteurizing at the minimum temperature requirement. Since the whole "raw milk" craze came along, maybe they are using it as a marketing ploy??? Low temp pateurizing might sound better than conventional to people that are interested in raw milk but can't get it because it is illegal. There is an orchard out by us that does not pasteurize their cider at all...GAG!
I would bet the laughing cow label was just really lousy editing!!!!
Re: cheese semantics
ditto this.

I would guess it's light and pasteurized.
That said, I know that there are shelf-stable milks that are ultra-pasteurized, so there must be different levels of pasteurization.
