TTC After a Loss 6 Months+

IVF here we come...

I am honestly scared $hitless.  We just finished our last IUI cycle, which was covered by insurance and it was a devastating BFN.  Now we are moving on to IVF and I am terrified.  I am over 35, so we are looking at PGD b/c I am now of that "Advanced Maternal Age" category.  That means the cost is going to be about $26K for IVF/PGD for Shared Risk- not including meds.  eeek.  I am sad that we have gotten here, even though I knew that it was inevitable.  IF sucks.  My body sucks.  I am tired of this.  ugh.  /vent

I did, but there are none in the VA/MD/DC area right now.  Crying  DH is really worried about downs b/c of my age, so when I get the call of the BFN tonight I am going to try and talk with them about PGD IVF and have a more formal meeting with them about it.  There are a few things I am worried about, like quality of embryo after they remove a cell to do the testing.

  • Big hugs on the last IUI fail.  I'm sorry that IVF is turning out to the be the answer.  I'm sure its scarey.  And wow, the cost is very scary.  I hope this is the answer for you though.  How many cycles is the shared risk for?

ETA: Sorry, responded before I read other responses.  Glad its for multiple cycles

  • Are you sure the PGD will detect Downs? Cause I'm guess we'll be using the same PGD place and last time I swore they said it couldn't detect some problems and downs was one of them. Maybe the difference between PGS and PGD? Crap! I hope I'm making you nervous over nothing but I would swear they said that was on the list of things they wouldn't pick up in this test...

We will take a break for a few months.  I just cannot do back to back stimming.  It is just too hard on my body.

Yeah, I was looking it up yesterday and it is all over the SGFC website.  https://www.shadygrovefertility.com/genetics-101

They wouldn't advertise it, if they couldn't do it, right?
