I could use some "clean pee" dust if you can spare it!

Since I was admitted to the hospital with a UTI, the high-risk OB's here have been questioning whether or not my initial 24hr urine was valid or not. Apparently, UTIs can cause you to spill protein in your urine as well as pre-eclampsia. For the record, I did a 24hr urine 2 weekends ago due to elevated BPs and it came back clean then (not sure if I had the UTI then as well, though, since I had never had any symptoms of it). All of my blood-work from 2 weeks ago and last week was also clean.

We're re-running the test today, it started at 6am (partially the reason I'm up so early this morning). They OBs won't commit to anything concrete at this point, but I was told yesterday by the high risk OB that she'd be willing to discuss strict, at-home bedrest for me if I passed this 24hr urine. I can't tell you how much I want to go home. I'm sure all of you ladies on hospital bedrest can relate and I totally feel for you if you've been in the hospital longer than me (which is highly likely). I've been here for 6 days and I'm already going BSC being away from kitties and my family and just being in a hospital in general.

Logically, I'm pretty sure I'm here for the long haul. I'm not confident that I'm going to pass this 24hr urine and there have been a couple of incidents of really high BPs in the hospital (although they were sporadic and usually calmed down shortly thereafter). Most of my BPs have been in the "high end of normal to low end of slightly elevated" range since I've been here (that's what the OB actually said, what a convoluted, wishy-washy description, no?). So even if I pass, they might still want to keep me since my BPs weren't normal.

As much as bedrest in general sucks, I would much rather be at home for it then here in the hospital. I miss home so much. Realistically, I won't actually be going home, I'll be going to DH's grandmother's house so she can watch me (she's retired, but a young retired). I'm trying to convince DH that he needs to take me home to our place on the weekends because, let's face it, his grandmother's house isn't really my home. But at this point, I'll take what I can get if it gets me out of the hospital!

So, long story short, please wish me luck! I could use all the T&Ps you can spare. Everything really hinges on me passing the 24hr urine. I'll have the results tomorrow afternoon, I'll be sure to let you know what they are!
