I've got a friend who is expecting, W will be about 8 months old when my friend is due. I know by then he'll have outgrown plenty of items that I'd like to offer her as hand-me-downs. I don't want to offer anything I'll still be using at that point though. These are some items I'm thinking LO might not need anymore at that point.

So...how long did you use/do you plan to use your:

H and I were just talking about this yesterday. There are a few things we no longer need lying around the house.

Swing: Going to pack this up this weekend

Bouncer:  He still uses it, not often anymore so It looks like we'll be giving this to my pg sister pretty soon

Play mat/gym:  Still out

Bumbo: packed last month. (he's 19.7lbs, too big now)

Infant bath: last month, but it was 1 month overdue

Infant car seat: last month, also 1 month overdue

Almost everything you listed has specific height and weight requirements so I would give them away once your LO is too big according to his size, not age. I'm gonna guess you'll be done with the Bumbo first. Many babies outgrow them pretty quickly. Babies with chunky legs sometimes don't fit.

My LO is 4 months old... 

So...how long did you use/do you plan to use your:

Swing:  Still using - he loves it.

Bouncer:  Still use it.  Helpful to sit in the bathroom while we get ready in the morning.

Play mat/gym:  Here and there... likes the excersaucer (sp?).

Bumbo:  Still using but once he's sitting on his own we'll be done.  Borrowed it from my sister.

Infant bath:  Still using but usually set it in the bath tub since he splashes so much.

Infant car seat:  Hoping to use it for the full first year but we'll see.  We have the Graco SnugRide 35.  It's nice to leave at day care since if there was an emergency they would be able to transport him safely.

SOme of that depends on your baby.  We plan to use the infant seat until DD grows out of it, which probably will be around 12months (DS didn't outgrow it by weight until then).  Play mat/gym, bumbo, bouncer, and infant bath will probably not be in use by 8months.  At 6months my DS would try to sit up in his bouncer and would end up kind of turned around in it with his head on the floor.  THe swing depends on if your LO likes it or not.  My DD likes it for naps, so I don't think we'll be putting that away for quite some time.

Swing: Sold it when he started trying to roll in it at 3.5 months.Bouncer: Once he got the Jumperoo he stopped liking the bouncer. So about 3.5 monthsPlay mat/gym: Used it a handful of times. He rolls off of it too much to even bother taking it out now.Bumbo: Still use it at 5 months.Infant bath: Stopped using it at three weeks. DH takes a bath with him instead.Infant car seat:  Mine has a 22lb weight limit. I have a tall skinny boy, so I think he'll be out of it at 8 months.

Swing: He out grew the small one at about 4 months. He still uses his big one though, not sure when we will stop using it.

Bouncer: If you mean the floor one, he never had one.

Play mat/gym: I haven't broken it out in a while. But I really should. Ours becomes a tunnel so once he starts crawling we will use it a lot more. I am thinking maybe up to a year with this.

Bumbo: Nope. He hates it.

Infant bath: We have the FP whale, we are still using it. Once he sits up I am gonna start using our other one.

Infant car seat: Still using it. Not sure when we will switch.

My daughter is almost 6 months, she is large for her age (95%).

Swing: Occasionally still use it, but not that often since about 4months

Bouncer: Same as swing

Play mat/gym: Still use

Bumbo:Don't have one

Infant bath: Outgrew around 3.5 months

Infant car seat: Just outgrew
