Re: calling those with a dynamic cervix...

  • I have a dynamic cervix.  With #1, my lowest was at 24 weeks.  They measured me at 26w, 28w, and 30w.  My cervix did not get any longer.  My cervical checks stopped at that point.  My OB doesn't think the measurements are valid (or I guess they don't really tell her anything) after that point.

  • Can't help, but I just wanted to say, interesting post. I never heard of a dynamic cervix. I just had to google it.  Maybe that's what I have? Will find out Friday I guess at the next u/s.

i actually have IC (incompetant cervix).  i have a cerclage holding it closed but it's shown it's "dynamic' in varying it's lengths (due to weight/pressure..etc) the last 5 weeks.

have they found your cervix short?

  • At 16w mine was 4.1 cm, at 18w it was 5+ cm, and at 20w it was 4.6 cm.  My dr said this is normal and also there is a lot of measurement variation (the measurement is somewhat subjective as far as where the cervix ends whent it's closed and long) at higher lengths.
