Now that Henry is *starting* to STTN (once a week or so, anyway!), we've stopping changing him in the middle of the night. Even if he does wake to feed, I'd rather not change him to encourage him to not wake up so much. However, he's been peeing through his diaper, through his pajamas, and through his sleepsack for the past few nights.
We use FuzziBunz during the day at home (with no leaks at all), and we've been using 'sposies at night (the Pampers Sensitive that he wears at daycare, also with no leaks during the day). Since the Pampers have been leaking at night, I've tried CDing at night, too, with extra inserts, but that leaks as well! Apparently, this kid pees a ton at night (no surprise, as mama gets up once or twice to go to the bathroom too)!
What do you use at night? I'm willing to do disposables or cloth....doesn't matter to me, as long as we stop leaking every night!
Re: Rec your overnight diaper
what inserts are you using?
I use 2 inserts inside a pocket diaper. Either 2 hemp inserts or 1 hemp and 1 microfiber. I have kept J in one diaper overnight since about 3 mo, regardless of wakings and have only had a small handful of leaks. I bought size medium babykicks hemp inserts and have used them in all size configurations of the 1 size diaper.
eta: Jack doesn't pee a ton overnight, so this might not work for your heavy wetter. He must hold it quite well because he goes immediately in the morning when he gets on his potty.
Also, if you want to stick with disposables I have seen boosters at BRU that I think are just kind of like adding a maxi pad!
Now that Adair is in a size 3, I get the Huggies Overnight diapers & they seems to work pretty well. She has leaked out twice, but it was poop & there was so much I don't think any diaper in the world could have kept it all in (introducing cereal has led to much much bigger poops!). We were using Pampers BabyDry before and she literally peed out of them every single night.
good luck & let me know if you find something that works for Henry (I'm interested in anything that keeps LO asleep thru the night!)

Hmmmm....I can't even remember which order I layered them in. That does make sense, though. We also have Thirsties hemp doublers, in addition to the regular cotton microfiber FuzziBunz insert. Maybe I'll try again tonight, making sure the hemp is on the outside. I bet I did it the other way around, and this way does make more sense.
Does anyone here use bamboo inserts? The CD class I took before Henry was born said that bamboo is super-absorbent, but expensive. They're hard to find, but I did find a Swaddlebees bamboo liner on Amazon. Just wondering if anyone ever tried something like that.
we use either a red GMD prefold w/thirsties duo cover or a goodmama w/a thirsties duo cover... I think she is a light wetter b/c I have never had to use an insert/doubler with her and we have not had one single night time leak w/her since she was born!
there is lots of great info here about night time solutions. i am not sure about bamboo but just shoot stephanie an email at abbyslane at aol.com and she'll be happy to answer your question
LOL can I just say that I think it's funny that your Miss A is already in size 3 and I am pretty sure that my Miss A would only wear a size 2 (maybe 3) if she was in sposies?

We don't CD and we started out with Pampers Sensitive and Costco/Kirkland diapers, as well as some Huggies (it was either Lil Movers or Lil Snugglers). But by the time we got to size 3, the Huggies and Pampers started leaking EVERY night (all the way through his PJ's, sleepsack, to the sheets) so we used the Kirkland brand instead. Kirkland was better, but it was still leaking, just not EVERY night.
So based on Lori's rec of Huggies Pure & Natural in the last sposies post, I bought a box of those, as well as Earth's Best because I wanted to try other brands. We have not had a single leak overnight with either Pure & Natural or Earth's Best. The diaper is super packed and heavy by the morning, but B is dry! Earth's Best diapers are actually a bit bigger than the other brands (we used size 3 in all 5 brands/types of diapers with the same weight ranges), so maybe Earth's Best's larger size prevents against leaks (I've heard some moms recommending buying the next size up if the current size is leaking for overnight). The Pure & Natural was the same size as the other ones but just didn't leak for some reason. I actually really love the way P&N feels/fits so I bought another box. And so now I use Kirkland for daytime and P&N or Earth's Best for overnight (which is 13 hours between his fresh diaper before bed and when he wakes up in the morning and gets changed).
I have used earth's best disposables overnight while traveling with no leaks. Sometimes they have them for $5 a pack at BRU. I need them so infrequently that I have managed with 1 pack of each size.
I have also tried the Kroger brand "Touch of Nature" (also sold as Nature's Choice on Amazon for more $) and no leaks. I like them b/c there isn't an overpowering diaper smell either but I'm not certain about their claims re: a more natural composition.
I got our organic bamboo wipes from Etsy seller Wooldins. She has Bamboo doublers too, here:
