Has anyone had quick progress before delivery instead of this dilated for weeks on end nonsense? I have a feeling my little girl is nice and snug and won't want to come out until way past my due date, but give me hope that she could possibly make her debut earlier than I expect!! 38w appointment today and zero progress.. which I know isn't out of the ordinary but is a bit disheartening to hear.

Definitely.  At my 39w appt with DS I was *maybe* a fingertip dilated.  I went into labor on my due date and had him after just 10 hours of active labor...got to the hospital 7cm!

38w is still pretty early to be dilating.  Even as a 2nd time mom, I was only 1cm at my 39w appt this time.

I dont know if this is what you're looking for but at 36 and 37w I was not dilated.  At 38 I was 3cm and 80% effaced.  That said, I'm still hanging around so it obviously doesnt mean much but I wasnt expecting that much progress in a week.

thank god. so tired of reading omgz I'm like 9.5 cm dilated at my 35w. my cervix is super jealous

With DD I was 2 or 3 cm at 37 and 38 weeks. I was induced at 39 weeks due to severe pre-e and HELLP and it took 22 hours for me to dilate to 10. It was a long freaking process and I think if I hadn't been induced, I would have at least gone until my due date. I have had friends who weren't dilated at all at one appt and then went into labor within a day or two. There is still hope!
