Today is my due date

It's a little bittersweet as LO is 4 weeks old. He's wonderful and healthy and we were so lucky that he was fine. While 36 weeks isn't super early, things could have been different. I still kind of wonder why he was early and if I was to blame, but I don't know that we'll ever know.Anyway, happy due date to me and happy 4 week birthday to my LO! Oh. And DH took over night duty and I slept from 1 am to 7:30 am. It was wonderful.

    I'm so glad everything turned out so well and you and LO are doing great! And I remember those first few nights of real sleep again, it was incredible!

     I know what you mean about wondering what happened though...my LO was only a week early, but he was only 6 lbs, down to 5lbs. 10 oz. before he started regaining...all the docs were expecting around 7.5 lbs, so it was really surprising, especially since DH and I are not tiny people. Him being tiny just made things even more nerve wracking for me, and I always wonder if there was something I did or a doc missed along the way. Granted, he wasn't considered low birth weight or anything, and I know we were so lucky, but I still think about it!

    Happy due date to you!

    My DH took over night duty last night too and I slept for 6 whole hours.  I'm still exhausted (I wish it would take just one night to make up for 2 1/2 months of interrupted sleep) but it was a nice treat.  Smile

    Wife, Musician, Fed, WW-er, and Mom of three little kids - not necessarily in that order.

    I know how you feel...my DS was 7 weeks early and even after 4 weeks in the NICU he was still home before my due date.  It was a bittersweet feeling, but thankfully he, and now your LO, are home and healthy and everything worked out well.

    Enjoy and celebrate the milestone!

    I had an early baby too- and never got any reasons why either so I know where you are coming from. But just think- your early baby will be sleeping through the night quicker than babies born today :-)
