Infertility

What do you do?

I hate not being able to bump during the day.  I feel like I miss so much and by the time I get to post, I don't even know if the poster goes back and reads them because they are from hours ago.  I don't have a job that allows me to be bumping online during the day -- not to mention that the website is blocked, along with facebook and most social networks.  How dare they block me from doing non-work stuff throughout the day!!!!

So -- do you have a job that allows you to bump throughout the day and if so what do you do???

  • I'm a preschool teacher so I definitely can't spend time online. Those little ones need constant attention! I know how you feel. It feels like we miss so much! I just check in the morning and then again in the evening right where I left off. If I have something I want to post, I try and do it in the morning so there will be responses by the time I check again. Hope this helps!

We also glory in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope. And HOPE does not dissappoint.

I can, but bumping from the iphone is almost painful!  I do have a quick second here and there to read, but posting is almost impossible with people always in and out of my office.  BOOO!!!  Definitely wish I could work from home more often!

  • i work for an internet company, so nothing is blocked at my office :)

however, my days are generally pretty busy. so while i could bump all day, i typically limit myself to lurking. i come home and post from my laptop.

  • I really can't either.  I'm in fields sales.  Sometimes I'm waiting for a customer, and I can get on from my blk berry.  Then I catch up when i get home.

  • I can bump while at work.

I work in college admissions/marketing communications.

I spend a good portion of my day at my desk, talking to prospective students, in our recruitment database, running pop lists, editing publications...

TTC #1 since June 2008 *SAIFW*

TI, IUIs, IVF = c/ps and BFNs

  • I work for a Provincial Government in Canada.  Everything I do is monitored so no bumping for me.  I could use my BB, but it is paid for through work and I am paranoid.  I make up for it in the evenings, which sometimes drives my DH crazy when he is home.

  • I probably shouldn't but I do. We do have blocked sites but thank goodness The Bump isn't one of them. I'm a claims analyst for an insurance company. I have to meet certain performance goals so I know how much work I need to do in order to make my goal.
After 3 years of infertility we were blessed with twin girls through private infant adoption.

  • Starting a couple weeks ago, I now work from home.  However, I don't bump during the day because I'm afraid I'll get sucked in.  Sometimes, I do a quick check in the morning and at lunchtime, but usually I just bump at night.

  • I lurk during my planning period, but I never post while I'm at work. I'm a nightime bumpie :)

  • The bump is block at work too.  I sometimes lurk a little and post here or there from my phone, but I agree posting from my phone is pretty painful.

I mostly just catch up at night.

  • I work in a hospital, so when I work days it is almost impossible to bump, it is too busy.  When I work my stretch of night shifts I can, I usually will not post.  I just catch up on what I have missed during the day while I am sleeping.

  • I'm an occupational therapist at a very busy hospital so I don't even sit at my computer much, except for doing my clinical documentation. I'm not sure if the bump is blocked or not but I wouldn't have time to bump at work anyway. I check on my phone at lunch but can't post. I feel SO behind when I get home!

  • The Bump isn't blocked at my job but I'm not really supposed to be online so I sneak it in here and there. I can read posts on my phone but for some reason can't reply to them.

I try to catch up when I get home but then my computer at home is wonky, it's always a page behind in posts and I have to keep refreshing it to see what's current... Annoying !

I try to post where I can but it's hard to keep up and I feel so bad when there's sad posts and I can't comment on them all...

  • I'm a research technician, so I have some days I can't get on at all... others that are so slow I'm on all day... and others where I can at least get on while I eat lunch and between experiments.  I'm lucky that they don't block any sites though.
