xp: guess who gets to do a repeat 2 hour Glucose test

Me!  UGH... gross, gross, gross.  I guess my Glucose level was 153 and normal is under 110.

When I had this done in June of last year everything came back fine so I'm not sure what's changed.  So Wednesday morning it is.

Does anyone know how awful my level was?  I don't know much about this and am not looking forward to to prospect of Metformin (but will do whatever it takes).

  • Sad I hope it was a fluke MrsT! Good Luck on your next test.

  • 153 isn't awful, but anything over 126 is the criteria for diagnosing diabetes. If it's not below 126, they will probably put you on some kind of oral medication to help regulate your blood sugar. Hopefully this reading was a fluke and it will be within the normal range on Wednesday. GL!

No, mainly because the first results were within the normal range.  Might have to start looking into those.

I actually work in diabetes sales, so i sell a lot of the meds.  Given the side effects, you might want to try the diet first.  Good luck, im so sorry to hear this.  Do they think u have type 1 or 2?  My sister is type one, and my cousin they thought had type 2 bc she was 30.  Turned out it was actually type one, w a later onset.

I'm not sure yet.  I'm thinking they'll tell me more after my test.
