Intro and Eastside Childcare Recs

Hello lovely Cincinnati Moms! My name is Lisa (husband is Eric) and I'm expecting my first on June 25, 2011. I'm not sure when is really an appropriate time to start looking for childcare services, but I've been thinking about it lately and would love some recommendations! We live in Eastgate right near the mall and would love to find a place close to home. We are open to daycare facilities and in-home providers. I really appreciate your help. Thanks!

    Welcome and congratulations on your pregnancy!  I'm an EG'er, as well. 

    As far as recommendations go, you may find a few from moms who live in our area and use daycare centers, but I think most of us are either SAHM or use friends/family as our care providers.  That said, I had luck finding our (first) in-home provider on cincinnati.momslike.me.com.  Good luck!

    I use Little Red Schoolhouse in Eastgate (by Chipotle/Sam's Club)- just started there. They're great.

    I still would rather have LO be in an in-home center with less exposure to so many illnesses, but as big centers go- they are great and pretty middle of the road with cost compared to the area.
