K was up coughing all night so I'm beyond exhausted today. It got me thinking...I've never been a morning person. My mom still talks about how much I hate waking up in the mornings. I'm like a bear that's been woken up early from its hibernation.
I can count on one hand the number of times K's woken up happy, smiling, in a good mood, etc. Most of the time she whines, cries and protests waking up just like I do. I'm thinking she's inherited her mommy's love of mornings.
So...are you a morning person? How about your LO?
Re: Two-fold question re: sleep (you and LO)
After 7 years trying to concieve, 3 failed IUIs and 2 failed IVFs, my third IVF was a success!
My Christmas baby turned into a turkey bird! Dillon Richard was born at 34 weeks, 5 days on November 28, 2009 after 10 weeks on bedrest for preeclampsia.

I'm a morning person, DH is a morning person, and LO is a morning person.
She wakes up happy and beaming at 6:15 every morning, singing. LOL!
By 8 am in our house, we've all had breakfast, cleaned up, done a load or 2 of laundry, read the papers and emptied the dishwasher and scrubbed the kitchen floor.
I WANT to be a morning person because I think I'd be so much more productive. The few times in my life where I've been up early and feel happy and well-rested, I've marveled at the amount of stuff I've gotten done before 9am.
I am not a morning person, but Cal is! DH isn't either. No idea if the sperm donor is a morning person or not.
ETA: When I was younger I was grumpy in the mornings for a while after getting up...that's not really the case anymore. It's not a mood thing, just a desire to stay in bed. Same goes for DH. Of course we get up very early now with Cal but we're both able to snap to it pretty quickly.
LO #1 - 1 unmedicated/self-monitored IUI w/ donor sperm.
LO #2 - 1 m/c, 2 BFNs, 4th IUI worked (unmedicated/self-monitored with new donor sperm).
Life is beautiful!
While I definitely do not love waking up early and would prefer to sleep I am generally pretty happy in the morning and on most days perk up quickly. DH on the other hand is miserable in the morning! He works shifts so his circadian clock is kind of messed up. Katie almost always wakes up happy. If she wakes up crying that means she does not want to be awake yet so I give her a minute and she falls back to sleep. Then when she is ready to be up she will play and talk to the stuffed animals in the crib and is always full of smiles when I get her.....now wanting to get dressed is another story that requires much negotiation these days : )
My DH is a morning person... like a really early in the morning person. He's usually up by 5 or 6 without the assistance of an alarm clock. He usually goes to be early though too, and when I say "go to bed", I mean fall asleep on the couch or recliner.
I never was a morning person, and I don't consider myself one now, but I'm usually up around 7 or 7:30 and I'm usually ready to go shortly after waking. I used to love to sleep in, but I found my days so much more productive when I got up earlier, that when I started waking up earlier on my own (DH's influency), I just kept up with it.
Henry gets up between 7 and 7:30 too, most days he is awake and happy when I go in to get him, but about once a week it just seems like he wants to sleep in. So, he is probably more like me than daddy.

I'm definitely not a morning person and neither is DH. It takes me a good 20 mins after I'm out of bed in the morning to be functional. It's bad. I've been working on it.
Fia isn't a morning person either. She usually gets up between 8 and 8:30 sometimes she sleeps in until 9! Usually she's pretty crabby and wants to cuddle for a good 10 minutes or so. I dont mind though it's nice. We either come downstairs and snuggle on the couch together, or if DH hasn't left for work yet then we all snuggle in our bed together for a few minutes. It's one of my favorite times of the day.
I used to be a morning person-once DS is STTN then hopefully I'll be one again. DS is happy in the mornings if he has gotten enough sleep.
DH is definitely not a morning person-although he has gotten better since DS has arrived.
Because we're fancy like that.
That seriously made me LOL!!
I'm not a morning person. I've become more of one since having DS, I guess. I had to! DH is usually pretty good in the mornings. He sings in the shower and crap like that, and it makes me want to throw stuff. (ok, maybe I haven't become that much of a morning person!) DS wakes up in a great mood in the mornings. He's happy as a clam. We usually have grouchy moments after his afternoon nap. I think sometimes he would rather just stay asleep all night!
