I switched from Similac Advance to Sensitive (the orange container milk version- not the soy) a couple of weeks ago since DD was pooping almost every diaper change with the Advance and was spitting up alot (she does not have reflux). The Similac Advance solved the spit up issue right away but now she only poops about once a day (although not at all yet today) and when she does it is kind of like she grunts and screams, then it is like explosive diarrhea brown but not pebbles or anything. So my question is did anyone else notice this? She is almost 6 weeks old.
FYI: Orginally she was on Enfamil Newborn but she didn't like that as much.
Re: Similac Advance to Sensitive and poop issues...
This is for all the caterpillars that never became butterflies. And for all the butterflies that never felt the wind in their wings. And for all the hearts that had hopes and dreams of a wondrous flight together.
Our Pediatrician recommended 2 oz of water a day to help with constipation. My little guy now drinks about 2.5 oz of water a day and has 1 bm a day without any pain or straining. What I usually do is offer him water before his formula bottle. He will usually drink about .25 oz at most feedings.
DS's pedi just told me to do this today. I hope it works for him as well because I hate to see him screaming while he poops.
