DD is almost 14 months old and the only word that she says is "dat" (although she does point to what she's asking about). I'm REALLY getting antsy for her to start talking. When did your LO start and how fast did their vocab expand?

Bryce didn't start talking until around 15 months. At that time he only said, "sat" (meaning, 'what's that?") Within about two months, his vocabulary exploded. He is 19 months now, and he can say.. cow, moo, sock, shoe, no, yes, mama, papa, grandma, dog, Cocoa, dada, Doug, Jeff, Mark, tractor, juice, and many more. It'll happen soon, don't worry!
LO is 19 months and has just started to really expand his vocab... to a certain extent. He is great at saying words ONCE. We hear (with regularity) Dada, Dog, This, Dat, Cat, Window (dow dow).... ONCE: Watch, Thanks, Thank you, Duck, light, chair.
DS is 14 months and he's been saying a few words for the past month :Ba (bottle), Car, Eye, Hi, Bye, On, Off, and a few others. I'm really glad "No" hasn't made it's way into the mix yet! However, I'm dissappointed the "Mama" and "Dada" aren't there either. I guess it'll all come with time.
Like a PP, DS has really started adding words to his vocabulary in the last month. Until he turned about 17 months, he had a handful of words at best. Now it seems like he's adding a new one every day.
My DS is 14 months and has said Momma and Dadda for months and lately says our dogs name "daisy" but that is about it, the rest I can't understand yet but I can see he is trying.
At a year she said a few works (momma, dadda and a couple others) by 15 months she was saying 17 wrods. Now she says about 25 words (including animal sounds). She really started picking up a lot of words in the last couple of weeks. For the last 2 weeks she has said about 2-3 new words each week.

Our LO says: mama, dada, tay (the dog), hi, no no, nana, and other things that we cannot say for sure what he means! I feel like once his teeth come in a little more he'll start saying a lot of words!
DS is 13.5 months and has been babbling/talking for a long time, but only over the past 1 month has he really started to say words that are semi-recognizable (other than mama, dada and nana). He now says deeeee (when he points to and wants something), apple, bubble, elmo, baba (bottle), ama (think this is grandma), geeeen for green, and said no for the first time yesterday.
My DD is 15 months and only says Mama and up. She signs quite a few words, but aren't worried. As long as she understands what we are saying and is following directions, we know her vocabulary is there.
Allie is 14.5 months and says about 20-25 words. She started saying some simple things (mama, dada) by 8.5 months, a few more by about 11 months (cat, duck), and then since then has added a couple at a time. I'm still waiting for the word explosion! This weekend she said diaper, ball, beep beep, and bubbles, and also weeeee! when she was going down the slide. (which I don't count as a word, but to her it's probably the same thing, it's what I always say when she goes down)
Others she says off the top of my head - hi, bye bye, tummy, eyes, mouth, baby, bottle (baba), three (as in one, two, ___!), "this big" (as in how big is allison?), what's this, that, doggy, Poppy...I'm sure there are some I'm not thinking of.
DDs had quite a few words since 12 mo, but she was using them randomly and I wouldn't exactly say she was an ineffective communicator. Her vocab seemed stagnant for a couple months and then seemed like like it really took off around 18 mo. She started putting words together better, using them to make requests and using them appropriately without prompting and picking up new words a lot more quickly. Her receptive language is improving too and I feel like she is a lot less frustrated then she used to be.
Between 12-16m DD went from 3-30ish words. She had a huge language explosion around 16-19m and in that time went to over 150+. Now, at almost 23m I've lost count of how many words she has. She knows the names for almost everything and is starting to string words together into 3-4 word sentences.
