"Walking" on knees?

Delaney is going to be a late walker, which is fine.  She's been a little behind on most of her physical milestones.  She is sooo close to walking though - she is cruising the furniture (or anything else she can pull up on) and will take the step or two required to get from the coffee table to the sofa.

Lately she has taken to "walking" on her knees.  It's quite funny to watch - she's pretty fast at it!  Did your LO's do this before they started walking?  I don't recall seeing this with my nieces/nephews, but maybe I just wasn't paying as close attention.

Re: "Walking" on knees?

  • Ellie did a little of this but I think it's because I've been walking on my knees a lot with the ankle cast and not so much a stage.  I do love the image of Delaney speeding around on her knees!

  • M didn't walk on his knees before walking. He didn't even do it until several months after walking despite kneeling and having me show him how to do it - very gracefully, of course Stick out tongue
  • hehe that's gotta be interesting to see... sabrina hasn't ever done this that i've seen.

  • Sydney does that. Mostly after she learned to walk. If she is sitting with her feet behind her, that's an efficient way to move. Especially since she still has trouble getting up from sitting to standing without a hand. But.... Yay Delaney! GO!
