Help me decide a menu for my bday

I was thinking either italian or mexican- probably 15 people

For italian I'd do lasagna and italian beef sandwiches, garlic bread, appetizers.  I love lasagna but it's time consuming....

Mexican- I'd do a nacho/taco bar- we'd make chicken fajita meat, taco meat- and tons of toppings- sour cream, salsa, guac, cheese, lettuce, tomato, black olives, jalapenos, refried beans, hot sauce     

We'd have taco shells and tostitos so you can make a taco/fajita/or loaded nachos. and probably have a side of spanish rice

I'm kind of leaning towards mexican- I want it to be easy and inexpensive.  MH can cook the meat, all I'd have to do is put the toppings in bowls. Can you think of anything else I should include?

    Are you cooking the food yourself? 

    I have a bias towards Mexican...  It's my favorite!  I think it would be fun, too, for everyone to make their own nachos and tacos.  I feel like everytime I go to a party, they serve either pizza or baked ziti/lasagna, so go ahead and do something different!!  Have fun and happy birthday!

    I don't think you can ever go wrong with a "make your own" party (like make your own pizza, sandwich etc.) so I vote for the taco bar!!!!!!!

    Looks like I'll be doing a taco/nacho bar.  Yum.  I love mexican food!

    Besides a side dish of mexican rice- anything else I should include?  I can't think of side dishes.....  we can make a few quesadillas and cut them up for appetizers.

    I love the Mexican idea.  I have a recipe for a corn side dish that goes great with Mexican food.  If you want the recipe, just let me know.

    Mexican is always good! I love guac and I like that people can either make taco, hard or soft and even nachos if they wanted. YUM!

    Yes please!  You always have good recipes.  I did make that crab stuffed chicken recipe you shared- except I ended up just eating the crab dip part before it made it to the chicken.  Yum.

    Yes please!  You always have good recipes.  I did make that crab stuffed chicken recipe you shared- except I ended up just eating the crab dip part before it made it to the chicken.  Yum.

    haha I love the crab dip part and have been know to eat it before too :)  I've also put it into a bread bowl and just served it before too.

    Okay, let me go get the corn casserole recipe.

    It's been a long journey. TTC since 9/06. multiple IUI's and IVF's and 4 m/c's. IVF#3 = BFP, twins, induced at 34w6d due to baby b passing away (no explanation). Delivered on 35w1d, Baby A - baby girl, and Baby B - baby boy, our little angel.
