Going to disney with a 4 and 2 yr old-- stroller ?

I'm debating taking our P&T with the doubles kit, or renting a stroller there. I like that with the P&T it's takes the space of a single stroller, and DS will be sitting higher if DD doesn't want to be in it. I dislike that if DS falls asleep, we wouldn't be able to move him if DD wanted to get in the stroller.

How often will my 4 yo need to be in the stroller? I have no idea what to do with this.

  • I would highly recommend a stroller. My daughter was 5 when we went and I rented a stroller at disney. It was great! Especially when she was hot, tired, thirsty, etc. I don't remember how much it was to rent. We went in 2006. I do remember that they had single and double strollers. the doubles that I saw were the side by side ones like the kind you can rent at most zoos. Hope this helps.

  • We always take a double stroller.  Granted our kids are a little younger, but I can not imagine DD doing all that walking yet. Also both our kids often fall asleep in the park even though DD doesn't nap typically anymore (hasn't for about a year).  I like having a stroller for them to have that option to sleep as it really does make for a more pleasant day if they are rested.

As for renting or bring your own...the disney strollers do not recline, so if you are hoping for naps in the park they would be difficult to manage that in.  I want to say rentals cost about $15-30 per day.

  • We went 2-3 weeks before my DDs 4th birthday.  She rode in the stroller a lot.  I took my double Maclaren.  It was nice that it is light weight and collaspes small but it was a PITA to transport on the shuttle buses (even being small).  I was also 17 weeks pregnant though.  DS did sleep in the stroller.  We went in August, it was very hot.  I imagine their rentable strollers were too.  No padding, small shade.  It was a nice place to cart everything too. (snacks, water, DD's princess gown, suveniors)

  • I guess I'm debating between taking our P&T and renting from Orlando Stroller Rental-- they have Cities and Bob doubles. Ds wouldn't be able to sleep in the stroller if DD was in there too. I think the side by side might be better for them to be able to see everything too.

     Thanks!
