If your IVF cycle was cancelled due to a cyst

So, I was on EPP protocol and did the estrogen patch and ganirelex.  Before i started stims on Day 2, they found a huge cyst and told me to stay on Ganirelex for a week.  I did and the cyst did not go away.

 

Well, they told me to stop the patch and the Ganirelex and wait for my period.  Question - do you wait another 28 days for your period to start and do you ovulate normally or when does your period come. 

 

My re said my period could come any day... I thought that was weird..

I had a huge cyst found on day 2 and they stopped my cycle all together (didn't continue with patch or ganirelix) and I went for a follow up two weeks later to check its status..  I went on to have a normal 26 days cycle and started the estrogen patches 10 days after my positive OPK.  Let me know if you have any other questions.
