Cloth Diapering

Pre-fold question

So, I wrote that i'm starting off with pre-folds and Thirsties covers. I have been reading about fleece liners. Here is my question...

-Do you really need fleece liners on pre-folds?

-Since he will feel wet, will he get more rashes without a liner?

any other pre-fold advice??

Thanks!

I never needed liners with my PFs

I changed her at least every 2 hours, but she didn't mind being wet.  Never had rash problems

  • I never used liners for prefolds when my DS was tiny. I use them now because we have started solids. I have never had a diaper rash using any kind of cloth diapers.

It really isn't hard to cut up some fleece and make them though. It literally took 15 minutes cutting up about 30 liners from a $3 fleece blanket. You don't have to buy the premade fleece liners.

  • I don't use liners and I haven't had problems with rashes at all.  Every baby is different.  You could try without and then buy them if you find them necessary.
