Pediasure?

Anyone give their LO Pediasure?
I got a rebate in with the weekly coupons a couple weeks ago from the newspaper, I just have to send in my receipt and get a full refund. So we figured we'd buy some, which is like $10/ 6 pack! DS is a very picky eater so we figured it would be good to know he's getting all the extra nutrients.. but the package said to "ask your dr for children under 2".

Re: Pediasure?

  • I just bought this for the same reason, to get the rebate.  DH gave DD some while I was out of the house and I don't think she had a negative reaction to it, but she wasn't as excited about it as she is with OJ or apple juice.  She eats well though so I'm not too worried about getting extra nutrients in her at this point.  I am normally pretty cautious about what I give her because I think she has some food sensitivities so I'm surprised at myself for not noticing the age recommendation.

  • I don't have anything to offer as far as Pediasure goes but... I still give DS 2-6 ounces of formula in his bottle (he gets one a day, at night) of milk, just to make sure he's getting proper nutrition.  Some days he doesn't get any, if we're out of town or something but usually it's 2 oz and on days he's a really poor eater he gets 6 oz.  I don't know when I will be able to break myself of giving him the formula as a back up.  Might be as hard as it was to wean myself from using the Snuza.  :o)

  • I give LO some but only about 1/3 of a bottle mixed with milk for right before naptime. I'm trying to wean him so I wanted to sweeten the milk a little bit so he wouldn't sign for breastmilk right before a nap. The rest of the day I give him regular milk, water, or watered down juice. So one little bottle I stretch for 2-3 days. (I know it says to use within 48 hours but I stretch it only a few hours longer...)
