Cardiac checkup plus other news

So, we saw the cardiologist today.  He said she looks pretty much the same as last time, no change in the vsd, the aortic spur or the weird muscle wall thing, but he wants to wait another six months and check again, just to be certain there's no improvement.

I'm going a bit nuts having this hanging over our heads.  I guess it's good that they're being extra careful, but I am DUE just before her next checkup, and I'd hate to think of trying to comfort a toddler in the hospital for a week or so while also taking care of a newborn.  Bleargh.

 To keep my PW-dom to a minimum, we got our actual marriage license today.  We've decided to simplify our lives and please our moms by making it legal.  We're just going to the courthouse next month, nothing dramatic.  We'll do a reception or something later, maybe in France this winter.

I can't believe you're 15 weeks already. It's going by fast!!!! Glad Margaux is doing well and Congrats on the marriage.

I'm glad the cardiologist is taking it slow but I can understand why you're concerned. I'd find it hard to take care of a toddler, recovering from heart surgery, AND a newborn. I hope they continue to monitor her closely and I hope it is all over soon.

Oh Amy, I'm so sorry this whole thing with little M's heart can't just be resolved. And what a PITA to have her next checkup be when you'llbeouttohere. I'm sure you guys will cope fabulously though.

sorry the heart thing is dragging but you're right, it's good that they are being so careful.  And the older she gets, the stronger she gets too so not so bad.  It'll work out.

If there is a small chance she doesn't need the surgery - I thinl it's better to wait then. Doesn't look like it's going to be something urgent, so if she does need it you will probably be able to wait for a couple of months after the baby is born.

Sorry you have mixed emotions about the cardiac stuff.  But like you said it is good that they are being extra careful.

Well hopefully he will schedule the surgery far enough out so that it won't happen back to back with the birth of your baby.  I'm sorry it's hanging over your head like this.  And pregnancy hormones probably aren't helping you not to worry.  Congratulations on deciding to make Rom an honest man!

I'm so happy to hear M's looking good but can only imagine how stressful it is to have to wait... especially with the timing of it all.

I didn't even realize that you and Rom weren't married. I'm sure not a whole lot will change with the piece of paper but congrats on taking the plunge! I wish that M's (possible) surgery wasn't always on your mind. That is so draining. Like everyone else, I agree that it is so reassuring that they are being so thorough. I have no clue what is happening with Sydney's murmur. You know the testing we had done and it was wait and see about the vsd resolving on it's own. Well, the last few times the pedi listened, he didn't hear it. Now that we are switching in April to a new pedi, I am curious what they will say. They are affiliated with CHOP, so I will trust their opinion a little bit more I think.

Sorry about M's diagnosis. It's great they don't want to operate just yet. And who knows, everything might work itself out in the next six months.

It is good that the cardiologist is waiting another six months.  Does he know you're pregnant, and the next appt would be around your due date?  If so, maybe you could arrange to have the appt. moved up to 5 months out.
