Me: Older (40 in a month) Broke, small house, small income, prevalent Postpartum Depression and Anxiety
Everyone else: Younger, More Money, Larger Home, More Energy and always happy AND Having another baby = more happiness and excitement
Yah, I'm a bit jealous and resentful.
I would love to have another baby so I can give Jimmy a sister/brother to play with and expand my heart and love even more but at this rate, I'll be 55 before we have enough money and bigger home to bring another child in our family. Sooooo, its out of the question.
I am a bit sad.
Re: FFFC - having more than one kid at my age
I'm sorry and I understand. I truly do.
DH and I couldn't afford to have one child, but we did. A second is out of the question. And as I get older, I feel less and less able to care for another newborn/infant AND my aging parents. So we're done.
And while I'm 99% at peace with that, every so often I feel sad.

Maybe the rate will change, and things will look up, money-wise. I'm a couple of weeks from 43, it could still happen!

Hey, they are not always happy - probably just pretending to be. And how do you know they have more money? Maybe they took a huge mortgage...

That's how I like to think of it should M end up an only child.

That's so true. Many people seem to have more money and happiness but when you look deep down, they don't at all, they just have huge debt and are totally miserable. The grass is always greener... I think it's not good to compare yourself to others, someone will always be better off or worse off than you. Just try to enjoy what you have and make peace with it while you also work hard to get to a better place (financiallly and emotionally). Working towards a goal, whatever that may be, always makes people feel better. The worst thing to do is whine about your life and not do anything about it. It makes you feel completely powerless and sad (I've been there). But we all have the power to change our lives, even if it's harder for some more than others. Money helps but it doesn't make people truly happy.
I think if you really want another child you can find a way to make it happen, but maybe I'm feeling too Polly Anna-ish today. I hope you feel better soon
