Parenting after 35

FFFC - I am full of these lately!

I kind of want Margaux to just *get the surgery already.*

I don't want her to have it at all, but all these months of observation before scheduling it are really stressful.  The doctor sounds really certain she'll need it, and sooner rather than later, but he just keeps scheduling more checkups.

Yes, yes, I know it's good to be absolutely sure when you're dealing with heart surgery, and if she has to have the surgery I want it to be as safe and easy as possible for her, and heck, I don't want her to have to have it at all, but having it hang over our heads is so draining!

  • Makes sense to me, actually.  And it's not like you WANT her to have surgery but you know she needs it and getting it done would be easier for your mental health.

  • Not even remotely flameful! You really, really don't need the stress and Margaux will be better off once her heart is fixed.
  • Hang in there! Hugs...

  • I understand and can totally relate.  The anticipation is worse than the surgery itself. But it does sound like Margaux will get the surgery when she's young enough not to remember, whether it happens this year or next.  Hang in there and try not to think about it!  *Hugs*
