Hi ladies - I'm a Cincinnati native that now lives in AR, but I'm trying to help a friend find a new OB. She needs someone in the Dayton/North Dayton area and is trying to find a smaller practice so she isn't meeting 6+ doctors throughout her pregnancy. Any recommendations I can pass on to her would be great. Thanks!
Re: Dayton area OB
I see Horlacher and Assoc. and love them. There are 2 OBs and a NP in the practice. All 3 are fantastic and I would recommend either OB without hesitation. I switched mid-pregnancy due to issues with my previous OB and they came very highly recommended. They are at MVH, which is also a great hospital, I had a really good experience with my delivery.
ETA: Forgot to say the OBs names are Dr. Horlacher and Dr. Wood.
I have also heard wonderful things about Horlacher and Wood from numerous people. I see Dr. Pawlosky. He delivers at Kettering and Southview (another KHN hospital) and I can highly recommend him. I have had a great experience with his practice.
I use Dr Horlacher. He is great! I love both:) I am planning on going back with the next pregnancy also. Miami Valley Hospital is great too. Their office is at the hospital so easy to get to.
I also see Dr. P. It's just him & his NP in his practice. He has offices in Beavercreek & also Centerville. He delivers at Kettering Hospital as well as Southview another KMC hospital. The hospital that Dr. P delivers at was important to me as I wanted to deliver at Southview since it's more private IMO.
Some things I will add is with a smaller practice OB's will work with another practice or practices in the event they are not available for delivery. So this was a question I asked when I first saw Dr. P because I wanted to know how many dr's could possibly be delivering in the even that Dr. P wasn't there. Also, as with a lot of small practices she may have to go to another practice for u/s. We have to do this with Dr. P's office but I love the other practice where we get our u/s so this is a non issue with me.
One of the things I love most about Dr. P is that he takes time with each patient listens to you and I never feel rushed out of the room. Okay I am done rambling
Like rachel06 and teacherjess, I third Dr. Pawlosky's practice in both Centerville and Beavercreek! He truly takes the time to listen to his patients, and he never makes you feel rushed or silly for any type of concern or question presented. I feel confident I am in great hands for my high-risk pregnancy this time.
