I HATE highchairs. I really do. With DD#1, we used a space saver chair. I HATED that. Boosters I can handle. I have no clue why I am like this.
I have two FP Healthy Booster Seats (at least I think that is the name) to use when they can sit up unassisted for long periods. I am thinking around the 7-8 month mark. Maybe later.
Anyway, what should I use before then? I know many delay solids until 6 months, but we will probably start cereal around 4.5-5 months old (when we did with DD#1).
Should I use bumbos? Boppies? Bouncers? I have all of these.
Or do I buy 2 highchairs at the Spring MoM sale in April and then sell them at the Fall MoM sale in September? We really don't have a large kitchen and 2 high chairs are going to take up a lot of space. We could make it work. I just hate the darn things and cleaning them.
What do you think? I am so undecided about this.
Re: If you didn't use a highchair, question for you...
I could have written this post. I don't know why but I too wasn't a fan of my space saver high chairs with the girls. I used it with my son and liked it better then the high chair. With the girls, I did start them out in the space savers because they had the higher back. I passed those along when I thought they were able to handle the fisher price booster seats. I now alternate between the booster seats and the Chicco hook on chairs.

While I like the hook on chairs they are difficult to clean but we now use them the majority of the time.
If I were in your shoes I would probably just use bumbos/bouncers, etc to feed until they look like they sit well in the booster seats.
We bought the Chicco 360 hook on chairs. So far we love them although the boys haven't started eating yet. We do feed them their bottles in them and they watch DH and I eat in them. Here's a couple pics of the boys in them.
