I am an independent contractor and was wondering if there are any other county or city taxes I should be paying?  I receive a 1099 and I pay state and federal taxes but I am not sure if there are any other taxes I pay or licenses I have to have.  I thought someone told me once that I have to register in the county I am in if I run a business out of my home (I work for First Steps early intervention).  TIA!

Yes, you do need to register with the county for the occupational license fee.
