why are some (most) men not romantic???

So, I hinted DH I wanted a spa GC for Vday so what does he do - he hops online and gets the gift card, which is fine but why can't he just have it boxed, wrapped, and surprise me on Vday?  I just got an email saying he purchased the GC.  He did the same thing for my xmas present - got online, ordered it but didn't wrap anything under the tree.

Why don't men take that extra few steps to make it special???

My H is good at picking gifts and getting them wrapped and all, but I feel that now I have to be extra-creative and put a lot of effort into finding gofts for him. I actually wouldn't mind things being simple.

LOL!  My DH is the one who tries to surprise me, although I wrap presents much more nicely than he does.  Honestly, I've found just being honest works best -- "honey, I so love that you listen to what I want and make an effort to fulfill my wish.  I hate to be demanding but I would so love if you could put it in a gift bag with some filling and so I can have a fun time opening it."

I don't know... Rom is probably more romantic in some ways than I am, I am in others.  He's a very thoughtful gift giver as far as what something is... He gets me something he knows I want (by asking or having me tell him in some way) then ALSO gets something small and special that he comes up with himself.

He is terrible about keeping a surprise, though, or wrapping.  It's fine, I am happy.

My DH used to be and somewhere along the line his romance and spontaneity went down the toilet. I actually had to tell him what to get me for Christmas AFTER CHRISTMAS! That's right folks. My lovely DH didn't get me a Christmas gift. Ugh! Love the big goof anyway.

My H is the same way.  He doesn't buy online but he goes to the store, comes home and gives me the bag.
