A lot of years and a million tears finally led me to you.
After 7 years trying to concieve, 3 failed IUIs and 2 failed IVFs, my third IVF was a success!
My Christmas baby turned into a turkey bird! Dillon Richard was born at 34 weeks, 5 days on November 28, 2009 after 10 weeks on bedrest for preeclampsia.

I would say 'Ash-lynn', and I think that's close to how its suppose to be said (I think). I tried learning Irish years ago and some of the gaelic pronounciation has stuck with me and I think this name is Gaelic, right?

A gold star for you Yes it is the traditional Irish/Gaelic of Ashlynn it's from a poetic genre in the 16th and 17th centuries. I'm just worried about pronounciation here in the states.

I only know I would pronounce Ashlin because I've done much research on Irish names before! lol But I could be wrong if my memory doesn't serve me correctly, haha.

ETA: I just read your responses and had to add that Aisling is a variant of Aislinn/Ashlynn, but it is not pronounced the same way. The "ing" is pronounced in Aisling, as I wrote above.
like hayes without the H + ling. no matter how many times i've looked them up, some irish names just don't stay in my head. i forget upon seeing it and pronounce it that way, as will most americans i think.
also, with the popularity of -lyn and -lynn names right now [and the likelihood that she will know at least one ashlyn], i think it would just complicate things for your daughter.

I think with the enormous popularity of Irish names right now, you'd be hard-pressed to find too many people who didn't know, or at the very least couldn't learn.
Re: How would YOU pronounce Aisling
A's ling
Sorry for dups, it submitted before I had finished.
A's ling

Aislinn is pronounced like Ashlyn.

A's Lyn
I would think the G is silent. Hence the reason I prefer the spelling Aislin- I think I have seen that before.
A's Ling.
I know it's supposed to be Ash-lin, but I'd say A'sling instinctively.
ash-ling.
I have heard it pronounced before though on babynamesofireland.com
