Today was what they call the 'nurses intake meeting'. I met with the nurse and we went over my history, IVF stuff, what to expect from a twin pregnancy and how the office staff worked. The doctors there work as a team, so I will be seeing all of the different doctors and the one on call the day I go into labor will be the one to deliver the twins. They are considering me to be a 'high-risk' pregnancy because of the twins, so I will have a lot more appointments, ultrasounds and monitoring that the average patient. They have a monthly 'high-risk' patient meeting where all the doctors and nurses get together and discuss all of their 'high-risk' patients so everyone stays informed and up to date on each patient.
I had to PIAC then got to hear the babies heartbeats for the FIRST time!! We saw them in our last two ultrasounds, but hearing them was amazing!
DH and I go back next week to meet the doctor. We won't have an ultrasound, but we'll get to hear the babies heartbeats again.
