Feeling movement... off and on?

So since around 16 weeks, I've been sure that I was feeling baby. Bubbles/flutters/taps, for sure. Earlier this week I felt "alot" of movement, still mostly when I'm laying down on my back, and mostly later at night. But the last couple days I don't think I've felt anything. Am I over thinking this?

Has anyone else felt baby move one day and then not the next? My next midwife appointment is Monday and my *first* ultrasound is the following week. I just can't wait to see baby on that screen and see it moving around!

Re: Feeling movement... off and on?

  • I think it's fairly normal in the beginning of movement, to feel it on and off. Today was the first day I was able to say "I feel baby", it was so cool. He/she went pretty crazy in there too. Movement for a good solid 15-20 seconds. Then nothing. Can't wait to see and or feel him/her again.

I'm sure you'll feel your LO soon enough again!

  • I think at this point, the baby might be moving, but I just don't detect it because I am up and moving around myself. I notice it most when I am driving and about to go to sleep.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE!!!  I would never have thought to get a tattoo dedicated to my pug----I think that may have to go on my future tattoo list!  Yes---pugs are the best.  Mine is usually pretty independent (she is a rescue) but since I've been pregnant her permanent home is in my lap against my belly!  I'm jealous you've been feeling your little one---I hope I get to feel mine soon!

Your pug is soooo cute! How old is she? Mine is almost three - we got her as baby from a "backyard breeder". She is the so awesome though, I can't imagine not having a pug in my life!

Yours is a cutie too!  We couldn't imagine our lives without a pug either---I can't wait to see how she is with the baby (and top on my priority list is to make sure the transition is as easy for her as it can be!) Mitzu will be 7 this year (we got her when she was 3----we think she was abused but has turned into such an amazing dog.)

  • I am 16 wks and had a dr appt today, and I asked about this bc I've had the same thing going on for a few weeks. Some days I feel a lot of movement and some days none. My dr said not to worry about it yet that the baby is still not very big and it's also pretty "padded" inside so not to worry about it at this stage.

Aww, rescue pug! Cute. I'm not worried about our pug, she loves kids and is very affectionate. We are more concerned about our Boston Terrier - who is bouncy, hyper and spoiled. Haha.

  • Totally normal! I seem to have this cycle where kid goes crazy all day for a day, then a few little taps the next, then nothing. Repeat.

It all has to do with the position of the baby on any given day and quite honestly, how busy I am and how much I'm paying attention.
