VBAC

Conversation with my OB today

Me: I'm nervous about having a VBAC after my last experience. Doc: Well I'm not going to induce you at 41 weeks first of all.  They sectioned you at 10 cm?  If you get to 10 cm and get stuck, I'll just use forceps.  We're getting this baby out vaginally.   Me:  SmileTongue TiedCrying Can I just osmos the baby out?He also told me that he just had a VBA2C delivery last week.  Then he mentioned that he is closing his practice in June to join Doctors Without Borders.  WTF.  I mean that is awesome but I'm sad that a doctor who really believes in VBAC and intervention-free birthing is leaving and local women will have one less good option.  And I'm so glad we got pregnant when we did or I would have had to find a different provider.

  • I kept hoping they'd come up with a method of birth through teleportation, but no such luck! The VBAC worked plenty well enough, though. :)

That's good to know because I've been working on my osmosis birth theory and not having any luck so far :)

  • I love your doctor a little more every time you post about him.  Sucks that he is leaving, though if you VBAC, if you have more babies later you'll probably have more luck finding another doctor to let you deliver vaginally again.

  • Not  the real point of your post, but doctors who will use forceps are so becoming extinct. I hear from everyone how "old school" they are but all the midwives really like those old school doctors. My sister and I were both forceps births, I obviously think they are a good thing.

I am glad you are pregnant now :-)
