truvia?

Hey, is anyone using Truvia as a sweetener?  I'm trying to stay away from all artificial sweeteners but truvia "claims" to be all natural.  Starting to get sick of only water and Crystal Light makes a Pure Fitness drink mix that is sweetened with Truvia and not aspartame!

Re: truvia?

  • I actually prefer stevia.  I think Truvia is from the stevia plant, but for some reason I like stevia better.  I usually get stevia in the raw.  It's cheaper too.  I assume it's better for you than aspartame, but I don't know for sure.

  • According to their website, and American Pregnancy, it's safe in moderation. The only ones to stay away from are Sweet n Low (saccarin) and cyclamate which is illegal in the US.

  • Personally I would check out Whole Foods/Trader Joe's/etc. and look for a naturally sweetened flavored water rather than on with artificial sweeteners. You can even make your own by adding a bit of fruit or fruit juice to your water. We need to drink a lot of water, and if you are going to drink several bottles worth a day, I would stay away from any artificial ones personally.

I like stevia better as well - just tastes better to me.
