Advice: Where to start?

I am 40, and TTC #2. Have been trying for 7 months and feel I need to see someone at this point. My cycles are still consistent so I hope I am worrying for nothing.

My next step is having my husband's sperm checked in a couple of weeks but then I assume do the 3 day bloodwork, correct? Here they are testing for what (other than FSH)? Any recommondations for an RE in the Chicago area? Am I even allowed to ask that here :)

    As you are thinking of doing, I made my husband go in before me, but when we got the results back and then realized he wasn't the problem, I quickly made an appt for myself. I timed it so that it was right at the beginning of the next cycle, so I got the CD3 bloodwork and HSG done all right away. I have no idea about Chicago REs-- I imagine you have your pick there...

    If you chart, it is always nice to bring those into your first appt too.


    IVF #1 ET 1 d3 embryo 10/30/11 BFP
    3 Embryos frozen (1 d5, 2 d6)

    DS born 07/29/12

    FET #1 ET 1 d5 embryo 02/10/15 BFN

    FET #2 1 d6 embryo didn't survive thaw, transferred last d6. CP :(

    We've now been two 2 different RE in Chicago suburbs (of Oakbrook Terrace).  We had to switch for insurance reasons.  Recommend you start with the insurance (if you have insurance), figure out what they will cover and with whom.  At 41, we've found both RE seeking to be aggressive to obtain best results.  Happy to tell you which RE we've seen, and pluses or minuses of each....but also unsure if an name specifics on here.
    TTC since 10/09 Me-43 DH-44 RE and testing 10/10-11/10, Recommending IVF 1/11 New RE AMA and DOR-DH low motility IVF #1.1 cancelled 3/11 due to poor response IVF #1.2 May 2011, one perfect 8-cell embryo, 3dt-BFN, IVF #2.1 Converted to IUI d/t poor response. New RE 9/2011. IVF 2.2 completed using HGH,EPP,DHEA, Q-10 and accupuncture. Transferred one 8-cell, grade one embryo on 10/19. BFP 10/31/11 Chemical pregancy on 11/2/11. Started stims for IVF #3, our final try, on 12-2-11. ET on 12/18. Transferred 3 Grade A embryos-BFFN Planning DE IVF, late March/early April- Donors ER expected to be 4/2-4/4. PAIF/SAIF welcome

    Thanks :) I am actuallt getting my FSH tested tomorrow and my husband is going in next week. Crossing my fingers for good results....
