Ok, I'm feeling dumb, but I just realized that I have 3(?) types of inserts for my BG3.0s and 4.0s. I've been accumulating them for a while and ordered doublers/newborn inserts at one point too. Now I don't know which kind if which. One kind is ribbed on one side and soft on the other, one kind is thinner and ribbed on both sides, and one is bigger and has the folded over part.
So.... how do I know which ones and which combination to use? I finally figured out that the two sided ones have one absorbent side and one repellent side. Also, when do I use hemp? At night for extra absorbency?
What do you do during the day versus night? Does the folded part go in the front or the back? Is there a manual somewhere or is this supposed to be obvious?
Re: How do you stuff your BG4.0s?
The infant inserts are a lot smaller and thinner! Also the BG doublers that I ordered are smaller and thinner than the BG MF insert with the fold down snaps.
For a girl you and supposed to put the fold in back, and for a boy in the front.
A lot of people use hemp as a doubler for overnights; put the microfiber closest to the baby and the hemp behind it as hemps absorbs more slowly.
You will have to expirament to see which combo works best for you! HTH.
The little one is the newborn size. The big one with snaps is the regular insert. use that one. The newborn one on its own isn't usually enough.
Congrats on your little one. My peanut was born early too, and didn't fit into BGs until 10-12 lbs, so don't be disappointed they don't fit yet!
