  • Not so much a recipe but, cook ziti 1/2 way, drain, coat with sauce (add extra it will absorb), sprinkle with cheese and bake 'til cheese is melted.

I always make my own sauce but if you want easy just use a jar sauce.

Yeah, I get the Italian shredded mix, but just mozz works great.

  • I don't have any measurements since I don't measure anything when I make it.  If you like a meaty baked ziti use meatloaf mix which is a combo of ground beef, veal and pork (or you can just use beef).  Cook the ground meat and drain the fat then season to your liking (you can just use salt and pepper if you want).  Then add cream cheese, sour cream, and pasta sauce.  Add the cream cheese and sour cream little by little.  You don't want the meat to turn out too wet.  At the same time you want to cook the ziti to aldente and drain the water.  Add the meat mixture to the pasta and add more pasta sauce if necessary.  When it's all incorporated, add shredded mozzarella and cheddar to the mixture so it's all melted in.  Then add everything to a pan, add more shredded cheese on top and stick it in the oven until the cheese starts to brown and bubble on top.  Then take it out and let it sit to get somewhat firm.

Not good if you're on a diet...but so delish!

This!  Cook and drain italian sausage with a little onion and garlic and add that too if you want. I use Trader Joe's pasta sauce, its delish.
