s/o house damage

My sister lives in C-bus.  Her house was built in 2008 (? maybe 2007... can't remember; regardless it's less than 5 years old)

Anyway, the roof of her porch got a ton of ice on it.  Water leaked into their living room (which is next to the porch).  It's in the carpet.

We told her to contact her insurance company... they can duke it out with the builder if they want to over whether it's structural vs. "act of god".  Regardless, my dad and I are trying to make sure she gets everything corrected...  so roof on porch + carpet + paint + pad + framing on the front part of the house + door/door frame.  Are we missing anything?

Does her house sit on a basement, slab or crawl-space? She'd need to make sure water didn't get under the sub-floor. That could lead to mold.
