6 wo won't take a bottle

My beloved angel won't take a bottle no matter how hard we try.  I bf and pump for DH to be able to help out with feedings every once in a while.  She's never taken one from me, but used to take them from DH & my MIl/FIL.  She stopped about a week or so ago and it's really starting to be difficult.  I need a break and to feel comfortable that if I'm out for some reason, LO isn't going to have a breakdown like she did this past weekend (awful, cried for 3 hours while I was having my first outing with a friend).

We've tried several different bottles, nipples, fresh milk, reheated milk, etc.  Any other ideas what we can do?

Re: 6 wo won't take a bottle

  • What about forgoing the bottle and doing cup feeding or finger/syringe feeding? While I think those would be frustrating long term, DH is planning on finger/syringe tomorrow night when I go  to the chiropractor if LO will not take a pumped bottle.

    Lots of ideas here: https://www.kellymom.com/bf/pumping/alternative-feeding.html

  • Try to bottle feed her when she is really sleepy or start with BF and then switch to bottle.  We did this with our LO when  we first introduced it.  She wasn't interested in the bottle at all and I have to go back to work so this is what worked for us.  GL!!!!
