Symphony vs. PISA

Because of my supply issues with DS1, I've been using the Symphony since day one, this time around.  I'm really happy with my production at this point.  In fact, I'm nervous to switch over to the PISA.  Has anyone used both, transitioning from one to the other?  Should I anticipate any major differences in my pumping sessions (slower let down, less output, etc.)?  As much as I wish I could, I can't keep using the Symphony forever.

Re: Symphony vs. PISA

  • I only used the Symphony for just under a week, but I was able to build and maintain a supply with the PISA.

  • You're in luck.  I use both on a regular basis.  I have access to a Symphony in the pump room at work so I never bring my PISA with me.  When I am at home and have the need to pump I use the PISA.

In my experience there is absolutley ZERO difference in output, letdown, suction modes, suction strength etc.  I was surprised because everyone raves about the Symphony, and it really doesn't do anything different than the PISA for me.  It's great but I just use it because it prevents me from needing to tote around my PISA at work.

    So, no worries mama!

  • Thanks, ladies!

Coolio - I would SKIP to work if I didn't have to tote around a pump, each day.  I consider myself lucky because we have dedicated lactation rooms with refrigerators.  Stick out tongue

I skip every day, except yesterday because it was too icy!!

Word has it that one of the lactation rooms at our base campus has a TV!!!  I would sit around and wait for letdown, after letdown, after letdown......

HA!  I was JUST telling DH that if there was a tv in the room, I'd NEVER leave.
