If you shred...

How many weeks pp did you start? Ive done the 30 DS in the past with no problems and was in great shape but now Im most concerned about my joints if I start this before my 6 week appt. Ive been wanting to go to the gym and just walk on the treadmill or do light elliptical but we've been snowed in most days :( and I dont feel like im getting anything out of my wii fit. Any other suggestions?

Re: If you shred...

  • My LO is 6 months and I just recently started.  haha.  I just finally got the motivation and drive to work out and lose the baby weight.  Hopefully other people will respond and give you a better frame of reference.  Knowing how brutal it is though - I probably wouldn't do it until you are completely healed and not sleep deprived.

  • I also waited 5 months before starting.  I would get the all clear from the doc before starting because it is tough.
  • I started after my 6 week PP checkup.  BUT, only made it to day 4 or 5 or so because trying to fit in even a 20min workout with a newborn was TOUGH.

I really need to start again, but, I haven't figured out how to balance working out, work, daycare, a baby, and a husband yet. haha

  • I was cleared to work out at my 6 week appointment, but had a terrible cold for a few weeks. Around 8 weeks I started running again, but felt so out of shape and was going crazy on the treadmill (snowy here).  I finally started the Shred this past Monday when DD was just over 11 weeks old - I do it when she takes her first morning nap.  My reason for waiting was because it isn't something to just "jump into", and DD has been sleeping through the night so I'm not as exhausted :)  I'm hoping that by the end of Feb it will be nicer to run outside, and I'll be stronger from Shredding.
