2+ Moms with LOs currently in daycare

Just windering what your plans are for you LOs when the new baby comes. Are you planning in leaving them in daycare while you are on mat leave. I am thinking I am going to leave my son in daycare for the first month( we live in Canada, so i get a year mat leave) full time and then swtich him to part time. He is currently in a in-home daycare.

For the most part, yes!  My daughter socializes there and learns so much. It will be the summer, so I am thinking maybe there will be some days where I will take my daughter to the pool with me (we have one in my developement).  I want to be able to spend time the three of us, but I know it will be hard and want my daughter playing and not just watching my nurse, ha!  A newborn is pretty easy, eat, sleep, diaper change. So, I do see myself keeping her with us some days. Yup, that was pure ramble, hope I am making sense...

DD will be going Tues-Wed-Thurs, home with me Mon&Fri, with both me and DH Sat&Sun.  That way I can get some alone time with Ava and Addy gets sanity without screaming newborn.  I suspect her days will be shorter though if I want to do something fun with her in the afternoon.

yes, my son will continue with daycare until the end of the school year. (june) He is only enrolled for 10 months b/c I am a teacher, so he was going to be with me during the summer anyway.   I am not planning on going back to work until November, so to keep his routine as normal as possible, he'll go back to daycare for 1/2 days in September and October.  Then FT when I go back to work.

right now he's with me 3 days a week because work made me go on sick leave and we don't have my income.  When DS2 arrives I will be getting short term disability and my plan is to send DS1 to daycare full time again while I have DS2 at home.

DS1 is a handful while I'm pregnant....I know I won't be able to handle him after my c/s.

DS goes Tu - Fri and we'll keep that schedule while I'm on maternity leave (12 weeks).  I think it's important to keep his life and routine as uninterrupted as possible and he absolutely LOVES it.  Plus, it will give me four days per week to bond with new baby and nap, clean, etc.  while DS is at daycare.  There may, of course, be days that I decide to keep him home but for the most part we plan to send him.

Absolutely leaving her in school. She deserves as little disruption to her routine as possible, and baby #2 deserves to have the one-on-one attention and bonding time that is only possible when the two of us are alone. It makes no sense to me at all to keep DD home with us.
