Hi Ladies,
I take Effexor XR right now, have taken it off an on for years. I was on it when I got PG and weaned myself off during pregnancy b/c my OB said it could give DS withdrawals at birth. Then PPD and PPA hit hard and I went back on Effexor. I know it is safe for BFing, but there are safer options out there.
So basically I'm looking for recommendations. I know I need to make a change, the PPD and PPA are starting to come back. But we want to TTC soon, and I'd like to be on something that is as safe as possible for pregnancy and BFing, so that I don't have to screw with my system and risk more PPD. Any ideas?
Also, does anyone know if I would have to wean off the Effexor before I can start something new? I'm going to call my OB tomorrow, but my mind is racing tonight, just hoping someone has some advice. Thank you!

I know Zoloft is safe while pregnant (this is what I took). I am not sure about BF simply because I FF. I also know that Prozac is safe for preganacy and BF. My friend was on Wellbutrin before pregnancy and switched to Prozac which she took through her entire pregnancy and is continuing while BF. Her son is now 4 months old and is going great.
