following up from my previous violent outburst of no napping 2 year old!

Wow, I really appreciate hearing from everyone... I didn't expect this reaction, I thought everyone would say I was over reacting but it's just soooooo frustrating to go from having 3.5 hours worth of a break/nap to knowing your about to have another baby and your napping child all of a sudden loses his mind and won't nap but is then exhausted and nuts because of not sleeping...it's insane...he just woke up an hour early today at 6:30 a.m. and was falling asleep sitting up so I put him down for his "nap" and he's just throwing stuff out of his crib and standing there...(using the video monitor)... makes me CRAZY!!!!!!!!!  Thanks for your comments and I think I am just going to go take a bath while he stands in his crib talking and running around, cause I'm not losing this nap time, I CAN'T DO IT!  He's going to nap for the rest of his life whether he likes it or not! :)

  • I feel you. I have. 4 month old and my 3 yo who previously napped for 3 hours per day has decided he doesn't nap anymore. It's so frustrating because he get super hyperactive instead and by 6 pm he is is an absolute peach to deal with! I'm just tying to make aure he has some quiet time so I don't go completely insane. On a side note, when I did get him to nap, he didn't go to bed until 10 pm!! So it's the lesser of 2 evils! Lol

  • My 4 year old still needs naps so badly! He was fighting it and giving me the worse time. He was hitting walls, screaming forever, & just awful. The only think that worked was allowing him to earn quarters for napping. haha I tried everything & all it took was some $$$! Now I use it for everything. If he doesn't pick up his toys & I have to do it I make him pay me quarters. Same for if he wants to watch a movie, throws a fit (a quarter every minute), or won't do what I ask. He earns them by going to bed like a good boy, doing his chores, & obeying. I was just so thrilled & have been where you are at so thought I would share :) GL!
