Possibly making a move to huntersville North Carolina and I need some referrals! We have 4: age 4, 3, 2, and 10 weeks. So I need preschool, pediatrician, and dentist - who do you use? Who do you love? and who should I be sure to stay away from??? Also, anyone aware of a website or other place that provides listings of activities? Like storytimes, events, music classes etc.

I live in Huntersville. I use Huntersville OB/GYN, Gilead Road Pediatrics (Dr Zurawick), Dr Brent Crawford is our dentist. They have storytime at the public libraries in Huntersville, Cornelius, and Davidson. Discovery Place Kids is in Huntersville and is awesome! We have an annual pass and go frequently. DD is 1.5 yrs old and goes to Gymboree once a week in Cornelius. She's likely starting preschool two days a week at St Alban's in Davidson. The lottery is in 2 weeks. Lots of preschools have their lottery in February.

Do you know which part of Huntersville you're moving to? The schools are different depending on where you live, so you'll want to check that out.

Saint Albans is considerably more affordable then the preschools I have found just by an internet search. Most the ones we had seen were $100-150 per week per child for 1/2 day part time. What are the chances of someone from the "general public" getting a spot?

Also how are the library programs/imaginon? Do you know anything of the huntersville YMCA?

We like the birkdale subdivision but would LOVE feedback/suggestions of family friendly area's

I also suggest lakenormanmommies.com, it is a great place to get a lot of good info and they even have a relocation section. We live in Huntersville and use Suburban pediatrics (they are technically in Davidson) and love it there. I just enrolled my oldest in Playwise preschool for next fall, they are all starting their enrollment around here now. I have heard good things about Birkdale neighbohood but don't have any specifics myself. We live off exit 23 in a newer neighborhood. I also siggest the Discovery Kids museum, we have a membership and go often as well. Also, the Lake Norman YMCA is not technically in Huntersville, maybe Davidson, but pretty close and it is nice. Thank you for the information! Playwise & Suburban pediatrics look like more great options! I'm on the fence about enrolling now because we have not sold our home yet (it is on the market) but I don't want to miss the boat. I am very anxious to be there! We will be staying in south Charlotte beginning in May and house hunting thru the summer keeping our fingers crossed that this house will sell so we can move. Thank you so much for your help!
