Parenting after a Loss

Covering face while sleeping ?

Does anyone elses LO insist that his/her face is covered while sleeping? DD2 loves loves her blankie and it has to be by her face if not covering it when she sleeps. If I move it she always finds a way to get it back up there. It makes me so nervous at night. I was thinking of cutting her blankie to make it smaller but I don't know if that will ease my nervousness or not. WWYD?

  • Abby doesnt cover her face but she burys it. It terrifies me and I usually end up adjusting her a lot at night. I dont know how to fix it :(

  • A does. I usually carefully extract it from the crib altogether once she's asleep.

  • In general, I think I'm a more relaxed parent (except when she has an allergic reaction *see post above*!)  so I would just let her sleep that way. She's at the age now, that if it starts to cause a problem, then I think she would either turn her head or move it. Most babies are born with that innate sense anyway. JMO though! How you been Jamie? I'm working on your hat, so I haven't forgotten about you!

  • Kaygan does this. If she is laying in a way that I can uncover her face without having to touch or move any part of her body, ill move it, but if not, I let her be. She's become such a light sleeper, any little disturbance and she's wide awake!

  • Yes, every night and nap almost. I just go in and move the blankie, but I'll probably quit after 8-9 months.
