My lawyer randomly emailed today saying that she would accept 50% of my remaining balance if I paid it in full within 10 days. F*ck if I had the money for that, but my parents agreed to lend it to me!
My lawyer didn't end up doing a single thing for me when all was said and done, but somehow my total bill for her came to 7K. I think she may have realized I had little motivation to pay the balance considering my house just got foreclosed on so my credit is shot anyway. I do believe in paying what is owed (I couldn't control what was happening with the house.) though, so this feels good.

Hahaha! I thought there was a woot-off or something. I have a bit of a woot problem.
Good news about the attorney fees. My stepdad is an attorney and he says all the time that people will just file bankruptcy after he helps them with their divorce or whatever, and he never gets paid. This is why a retainer is like $3000.
