Boiling prefolds?

I've heard this mentioned before but can't find the thread...  If you have used this method, how long do you boil for?  And then do you machine dry and do a regular wash w/ detergent and repeat?  I have unbleached can I still use this method?  TIA.

Re: Boiling prefolds?

  • I'm pretty sure unbleached or bleached it doesn't matter. I did this for mine. I boiled 3-4 at a time for about 10ish minutes. Then just washed and dried all of those on hot wash with detergent. I think you're supposed to switch out the water between batches, but I didn't, I was a little lazy about it. =)

    Worked fine for mine though.

Awesome, thanks for the info.  I'm feeling a little lazy myself so this method sounds great lol.

I just let them air dry and then did a wash/dry cycle. I'm not even sure if they dried completely

    I don't know if there's a difference b/w bleached and unbleached.

  • With vegetable broth, carrots, and onions makes a nice stew.
  • I boiled mine for 30 minutes and then ran a hot wash col rinse.  It worked great!

It is probably a bit too much information, but I still kind of love it.
