Anyone deliver at Regions? I am not due for a few months yet but that is where my midwives are so that is where we will be delivering. Any comments, suggestions, advice?
I delivered there a year ago and had a really good experience. The facility is really nice and the staff was great. The only complaint we had was the cot that DH slept on for 2 nights was horrible, plastic covered and loud.
We delivered there and it was awesome...midwives were nice, nurses were great, food was good too. I want to know the guys name who gave me my epidural because I could've kissed him he did such a good job!!
I loved Regions though. I had a c/s with my first, and a VBAC with my second, so I've truly experience everything in their Labor and Delivery world. I have nothing but praises from triage to check out. The triage staff was very patient and helped get me settled in and kept things moving along.
With my c/s, the surgical team was great, very informative and relaxing. My scar was BARELY visable by a few months PP and I never had any issues.
The midwives and nurses I worked with for my VBAC were beyond amazing. I didn't want drugs, and they were never once pushed on me. I was free to roam around, I had cordless monitors so I could walk around and go in the bathtub. They left me ALONE so I could do my thing. When it came time to deliver, they just kind of sat back and let my body do what it was supposed to.
The PP experience in both cases was great as well. First of all, the food is AMAZING for hospital food. Great choices, and large portions (so DH was able to share with me most of the time). After my c/s, they were in very regularly to check on my pain and make sure everything was healing up well (coming less and less each day). After my VBAC, they basically just left me alone, which was wonderful.
The lactation consultants they have on staff are so hopeful and very knowledgable, which is a great plus.
We got a free parking pass, so our parking the entire stay was free. DH got a $15.00 gift card to use in the cafeteria.
i delivered at regions and had a good and bad experience. i too had a nurse that was like the nurse from hell. this was almost 2 and a half years ago. i will be delivering there in less than 7 weeks. i had another hospital choice but i think regions is still a great hospital even if i had one bad nurse. i would recommend regions hands down.
Re: Anyone deliver at Regions?
I did. I had a horrible L&D experience, but an amazing post partum experience.
My advice? If your L&D nurse is an older woman named Terry, demand a new nurse. She was the reason for 75% of my bad experience.
